Dr. Michael Brown founded The Back & Spine Center in 1997 with one goal in mind: To educate as many people as possible
about the benefits of Chiropractic care! We strive to produce happy, healthy patients that refer others so that they
too can benefit from Chiropractic care.
Dr. Brown is a firm believer in Chiropractic before any other type of
health care. "My philosophy of health care has always been Chiropractic first, drugs second, and surgery last."

Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- Practiced in Palm Beach, Florida where he worked with professional golfers and the Atlanta Braves for spring training.
- Practiced in Colorado Springs working with mostly
athletes from the Olympic Center and the Professional Bull Riding Association.
- Worked and trained with many WCW (professional wrestlers) including Rick and Scott
Steiner, The Ultimate Warrior, and Kevin Nash to name a few!
- Worked with the professional Lumberjacks at the Paul Bunyan festival in Ohio.
- Worked and trained with world record holders and two of the world's strongest
men, Dave Pasenella and Gary Frank.

Teresa Hine
Office Manager
Teresa has been with Dr Brown for more than 8 years.
Her confidence, fairness, and efficiency as well as business management classes and 13 years of hands on management training
with TS Trim have groomed her perfectly for her position here. She supports this company and its staff and hopes to
watch it grow immeasurably.
In her spare time Teresa enjoys spending time with her family-husband, children, and grandchildren.
She also enjoys volleyball, boating, and swimming.
Jenny Russell
Billing and Collections Specialist
Jen joined us here in April 2006.
She attended Hocking College for 2 years and took 1 year of adult classes at Tri County Career Center. She is a perfect
match for her department-combining incredible efficiency with a strong will and a go-getter attitude in order to provide top
notch financial services for our patients.
She’s a local girl, born and raised here in southeast Ohio.
Jenny has 3 children whose sporting events she attends faithfully. She enjoys spending her spare time outdoors with
her children and 2 dogs. She enjoys working out and playing sports, fishing, and would prefer to read a book rather
than watch television.
Shawana Strader
Chiropractic Assistant
Shawana was born in Tennessee and raised in Ohio
and has lived many places in between. She has worked for Dr Brown since September 2005, but has worked as a chiropractic
assistant since 1999. Shawana loves working in chiropractic and believes natural healthcare is the future. In
her spare time she reads a lot… more than 100 books per year, and can often be found at the Athens dog park.
Laura Copeland
Massage Therapist
Laura has been a massage therapist since August 2006, and has been with our office since October 2006.
She likes singing to her patients despite them nicknaming her "Iron Fingers". Laura has been married for over
2 years to her husband Nehemiah, and has a mischievious 2 year old cocker spaniel named Ginger as well as a recent rescue
named Cricket.
Kathy Lymas
Massage Therapist
Kathy joined us in January 2007. She is married with 2 daughters. She enjoys reading, gardening, and
spending as much time as possible with her family. Kathy graduated from massage school with a 4.0 average and was the valedictorian
of her class. Kathy is dependable, laid-back, and easy to get along with-a great combination for a massage therapist.
